Data Privacy Statement

This data privacy statement will provide you, as a user of our website, with all the necessary information about how we or third-party providers collect and use your data, how much data this involves, and for what purpose it is collected and used. Your data is collected and used strictly in accordance with the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telemedia Act (TMG). We are especially committed to keeping your personal data confidential and therefore operate strictly within the limits we are set by the statutory provisions. If possible, we collect this personal data on a voluntary basis. Furthermore, we only pass this data on to third parties with your express consent. When it comes to particularly confidential data, such as that concerning payment transactions or with regard to the requests you make to us, we use SSL encryption to ensure a high level of security. However, we want to be sure here to refer to the general risks involved in using the internet, which we cannot influence. Particularly when it comes to email communication, your data is not secure unless you take further precautions, and may be captured by third parties.

Information, erasure, blocking

You can receive information from us free of charge at any time with regard to the personal data we have stored concerning your person, and the origin, recipient and purpose of the data collection and processing. Furthermore, you have the right to require the rectification, blocking or erasure of your data. This does not include data stored due to statutory regulations or which is required in order to process transactions properly.  Data is held in a lock file for control purposes so that a lock can be achieved at any time. If data is not subject to a statutory storage obligation, we will erase your data at your request.  If the storage obligation applies, we lock your data. With regard to any questions and concerns regarding the rectification, blocking or erasure of personal data, please contact our data protection officer using the contact details in this data privacy statement or at the address mentioned in the legal notice.

Collection of access data

The delivery and presentation of the content via our website technically requires the capture of certain data. When you access our website, either we or the webspace provider capture these “server log files”, as they are called. These log files do not allow any connection to be traced back to you or your person. The corresponding information consists of the name of the website, the file, the current date, the data volume, the web browser and version, the operating system used, the name of your internet provider’s domain, the referrer URL as the site you switched to our site from, and the corresponding IP address. We use this data to present and deliver our content and also for statistical purposes. The information helps us to provide and constantly improve our offering. We also reserve the right to check the data mentioned in retrospect if the suspicion should arise that our offering has been used unlawfully.

SSL encryption

Our website uses SSL encryption when our users’ confidential or personal content is transmitted. This encryption is activated when processing payments, for example, or when you post enquiries to us on our website. Please make sure that you have activated SSL encryption for relevant activities. It is easy to see when encryption is being used: What is displayed in the address bar of your browser changes from “ http://” to “https://”. Data encrypted by SSL cannot be read by third parties. Only send us your information if SSL encryption is activated, and contact us when in doubt.

Facebook plugins

You will find plugins from the social networking site Facebook on our website. These are provided by Facebook Inc., domiciled at 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA. The Facebook logo or the like button on our site indicate the plugins clearly for you. Please also note the overview regarding the Facebook plugins at http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/. When you visit our website, we create a direct connection to the Facebook server using the plugin. You are then connected up to it through your browser. This means that Facebook gets the information that you have visited our website with your IP address. You link the content of our website to your Facebook profile with one click on the Facebook like button. Facebook can assign your visit to our site to your user account. Here, we have no knowledge of the type of content that is transmitted to Facebook or how Facebook uses it. You can obtain more detailed information about data collection and use from the Facebook data privacy statement at http://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php. You can prevent your visit to our site being assigned to your Facebook profile by simply logging out of your Facebook account beforehand.

Social plugins

Social plugins may be used on our website, particularly the like button for the social networking site facebook.com. Facebook.com is operated by Facebook Inc, with its headquarters in the United States (1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, California, 94025, USA). If you visit a page on our website containing a plugin of this kind, your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer or Safari) creates a direct connection with the Facebook servers. The use of the social plugin (legal basis: Art. 6(1) GDPR) is based on our legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both our web offering and our advertising. We have no influence over the scope of data which Facebook collects by doing so and we provide you with information according to what we know. By embedding the plugin, Facebook receives the information that you have visited our website. If you are logged into Facebook through your user account while you are visiting our website, Facebook can assign your access to our website to your user account. If you then interact with social plugins, e.g. press the like button or use the “Share” or “Share Now (Friends)” function, the corresponding information will be transmitted to Facebook and stored there. Even if you are not a member of Facebook, it is possible that Facebook will recognise and store your IP address. Please see Facebook’s data privacy instructions (https://de-de.facebook.com/full_data_use_policy) for information on the collection and use of your data by Facebook and for your rights and settings options in this regard. If you are a member of Facebook and do not want Facebook to be able to assign your visit to our website to your Facebook user account, you must log out of your Facebook user account before accessing our website.

Use of Google Analytics

We use Google Inc.’s web analysis service Google Analytics on our website. This service uses cookies. These are text files which allow your user behaviour with regard to our website to be analysed by being stored on your PC. The cookies generate information which is transferred to a Google server. These servers are generally in the USA, but we act in accordance with treaties concerning the use of the European Economic Area and abbreviate your IP address before transmission to the United States. It is only in exceptional cases that the IP address is not abbreviated until after it has been transmitted to the USA. Google analyses the information transmitted and performs further services for us website operators in this context. The identified IP address is not merged with other Google services in this case. You can change your browser settings to prevent cookies from being stored on your computer. However, this may lead to presentation and functions being restricted when you use our website. Furthermore, a browser plugin prevents data generated by the cookies from being captured or used. You can download it using the following link:  https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. Go to http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/ to learn more about the data privacy terms of Google and Google Analytics.

Google Analytics remarketing

We use Google Inc.’s remarketing function on our website. We use this function to show our visitors customised and interest-based advertising together with Google. Cookies are set on your computer in this regard. These are text files that recognise users when they access sites and thus enable advertising throughout the Google network that reflects the users’ interests. In this connection, Google says that personal data is not collected and, according to its information, it does not create any connections to other Google services either. You can prevent Google’s remarketing function by choosing the corresponding settings at http://www.google.com/settings/ads. Furthermore, the use of cookies can be deactivated at http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp or by changing the settings on your browser. You use the help function if necessary. You can find out more about Google remarketing and Google’s general data privacy statement at: http://www.google.com/privacy/ads/.

Google Maps plugin

We use a plugin from the web service Google Maps on our website. Google Maps is operated by Google Inc, with its headquarters at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. When you use Google Maps on our website, information on the use of this website and your IP address is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and also stored on this server. We have no knowledge regarding the precise content of the data transmitted or how Google uses it. In this context, the company says that the data is not linked to information from other Google services and that personal data is not captured. Google may transmit the information to third parties, however. If you deactivate JavaScript on your browser, you prevent Google Maps from running. However, neither can any maps then be shown on our website for your use. By using our website, you declare your consent to Google Inc. capturing and processing the information as described. You can find more information about the data privacy regulations and terms of use for Google Maps here: https://www.google.com/intl/de_de/help/terms_maps.html.
